Internship Opportunities
CCIEC offers a wide variety of internships to students seeking experience in social work, psychology, marketing, public relations, accounting, community public health, political science, international relations, anthropology, foreign languages and much more! Spend your internship providing help and creating hope in the lives of children and families in need in our community.
Case Manager
Refugee Services
Refugee Services interns work directly with Case Managers to assist with refugee arrivals and current clients. This can be a very rewarding experience that exposes the intern to various cultures and languages, as well as teaches them about community resources and the federal government’s policies and programs. Two to three positions are available each semester (fall, spring, and summer). All majors are welcome.
Extern/Internship
Immigration Law Clinic
Law students only. Externs/Interns will be responsible for duties which may include the following: completing research and writing assignments in a timely manner, assisting attorneys in every stage of case preparation, and meeting with clients. Externs/interns may shadow attorneys to observe hearings as schedules allow. Externs/interns may be called upon to initiate, develop, or continue special projects for ILC.
Human Resources Intern
Human Resources
Catholic Charities Human Resource Interns (high school graduates or students pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree) receive opportunities to shadow a coordinator — a generalist to learn more about HR laws, recruiting processes, benefits administration, and employee engagement and development. They will learn how to recruit for positions, including posting jobs, conducting interviews, onboarding, hiring, and performing orientation, as well as learning about open enrollment, benefit administration, and various engagement opportunities.
Social Work or Counseling Intern
Counseling Center
Catholic Charities Counseling interns (Social Work or Counseling) are welcome at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. Interns receive opportunities to shadow individual and group therapies, learn more about co-occurring and substance abuse disorders, and practice collaborative care in our community-center-based setting. As interns progress, they will learn how to perform brief screenings, treatment plans, and assessments before they begin to see clients individually and/or in group settings. Interns who have federal work study eligibility may have the opportunity for paid experience.
