The Counseling Center is dedicated to breaking the cycle of addiction and reinforcing the bonds within families. Our counseling programs are designed to provide comprehensive support, offering a safe space for individuals and families to heal and thrive. With a focus on compassion and respect, we aim to empower our community members to overcome challenges and build healthier futures.

Our Counseling Programs

Substance Use Assessment and Treatment

Provides assessment and referral, case management, individual, group, and family therapy.

This includes evidence-based treatments for co-occurring disorders including EMDR, prolonged exposure, CBT, and other cutting-edge treatments.

Monday – Friday 8AM – 5PM with some evening groups available

Eligibility: No restrictions

Application Process: Call to complete a phone screening.

Documents Required: Photo ID

Fees: Call for details. Medicaid accepted. Block grant funding available in some cases.

Roots and Wings

A parent and teen (ages 7-17) program that helps strengthen families by teaching them how to build healthy and clear communication skills.

Wednesdays, 5:30PM – 7:30PM

Dinner is included at 5:30PM

Eligibility: Parents of children ages 7-17 and children ages 7-17.

Application Process: Call to set up appointment.

Documents Required: Photo ID

Fees: None

Roots and Wings is a 7-week program.

Enhanced Women's Specialty Services

Advocates assist clients in obtaining substance use disorder treatment, staying in recovery, connecting with community services, and more.

Wednesdays, 5:30PM – 7:30PM

Dinner is included at 5:30PM

Eligibility: Women who use alcohol/drugs during pregnancy, are pregnant or up to 36 months post-partum, and are ineffectively connected to community services

Application Process: Call to sign up.

Documents Required: Photo ID

Fees: Free to women who are eligible to receive Cristo Rey Campus services, Medicaid eligible, Healthy Michigan or are enrolled in the MI Child Program.

Parenting Program

Teaches essential skills for parents with children 0-6 years old. Topics include healthy communication, how to address different stages of development, and how to discipline children without the use of physical punishment.

Monday Sessions: 10AM -12:00PM, 2:30PM – 4:30PM, 5:30PM – 7:30PM

Eligibility: Parents of children ages 0-6

Application Process: Call to set up an appointment.

Documents Required: Photo ID

Fees: None

Please arrive 30 minutes before the first class to do paperwork. Participants must attend the same time every week.

This is a 10-week program.

Anger Management Program

An educational group program for individuals who struggle with emotional regulation and want to develop healthy stress coping mechanisms.

Classes every Tuesday, 5:30PM – 7:00PM

Assessments and intakes occur Monday – Friday

Eligibility: 18 and over

Application Process: Call to set up an appointment.

Fees: None

Mental Health Therapy

An educational group program for individuals who struggle with emotional regulation and want to develop healthy stress coping mechanisms.

Classes every Tuesday, 5:30PM – 7:00PM

Assessments and intakes occur Monday – Friday

Eligibility: 18 and over

Application Process: Call to set up an appointment.

Fees: None

How do I get started?

How do I know if I or someone I love needs help?

If one’s substance use is having a negative impact on their life, such as their relationships, job, or other significant aspects of their lives, they may need help. The same applies to mental health concerns as well

The Counseling Center is licensed by the State of Michigan & is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), which means that our counseling center maintains the highest of standards in the delivery of treatment.
